Are you looking for a job this summer?  Love science?  Then the Don Harrington Discovery Center is looking for you!  These jobs are perfect for college students looking for work this summer.  Here's some of the jobs available:

Science Guide:  If you are curious, love science, out-going, and like working with kids, then become a science guide at the discovery center. Must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends on a rotation basis.

Senior Science Guide: Serves as Manager on Duty for front of house on weekends, event rentalsand as assigned, including, but not limited to:

  • Daily opening/closing duties
  • Managing floor staff
  • Handling guest concerns or issues as they arise, seeking help from supervisor as needed
  • Taking lead role in assigned zone (i.e. animal care, demo lab, etc.)

Science Guide Education Team:  If you have experience in education, than this job is for you. Not only do you get to help kids see the wonders of science, you get to blow things up! More job details:

  • Educating students in grades Pre-K through 12 through exciting floor demonstrations, activities andscience labs
  • Running shows and presenting live astronomy programs in the Space Theater
  • Presenting Science Live! shows and othereducational programs at area schools, day cares, etc. (mileage paid)
  • Presenting education programming to children and adults during general operating hours, FamilyScience Nights and other special events
  • Willingness to work with and assist with care of live animals (small reptiles, mammals, etc.)
