Things Found At Amarillo Target & Walmart That Make You Say “WTF?”
Look, I have a tendency to frequent Target and Walmart. I've seen some interesting things in those stores plenty of times.
It wasn't until recently that I started taking pics of those things.
The last time I went to Walmart and Target respectively, I saw things that made me laugh and think to myself "WTF" man!
We'll start small this time, simply because I just can't hold on to these pictures any longer without getting them out into the world. Something tells me this will become a recurring series though, especially now that I'm being smart enough to take pics.
Let's start with something I saw at Walmart not too long ago.
MATH IS NOT OUR STRONG SUIT
Walmart is known for some pretty smoking prices on items. You're gonna find great deals on hot items, and some pretty amazingly low grocery prices. In this instance though, I think I'd rather purchase these at regular price.
I mean, math wasn't my strong suit in school, but even I know two bags of chips for $4.96 is cheaper than the 2 for $6 deal they're advertising. Wonder if I could've said I wanted to pay regular price instead of the "deal" at the register. Imagine the look I would've gotten.
S***TER'S FULL!
So I took the boys out with me one day so they could spend a little of their Christmas money and gift cards at Target. We immediately head back to the toys and electronics section. I've got one kid wandering near the video games, the other looking at collectible toys. I decided to follow the kid to the collectibles.
He's looking at all the different Funko Pop! characters that were there. I gotta say I had my eye on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles one they had. It was the next shelf over that really grabbed my attention.
What is Clark Griswold doing here? It seemed super out of place and very random seeing as how it was on a shelf with gargoyles and other things of that nature. Either way, I got a good laugh out of it.
YOU'LL SHOOT YOUR EYE OUT!
I keep wandering down the shelf as the kid has now moved on to looking at posters. Once again, I see something that feels like it's just out of place.
It's Ralphie! Same packaging and everything as the Clark Griswold character. Now I'm invested. I send a picture of the two characters to my wife who also laughs at them, but is wildly intrigued considering her love of Christmas movies.
FRA-GEE-LAY
I start moving different boxes around on the shelf now. I mean, if Ralphie and Clark are there, what else can I possibly unearth?
Jackpot. Raphie's dad with his "major award" is staring at me. If only there was one of Randy either eating like a pig at the dinner table, or in his puff suit screaming "I can't move my arms", I'd have the whole collection.
MERRY CHRISTMAS, LITTLE FELLA
Randy is nowhere to be found, hopes and dreams crushed. I've rifled through everything on the shelf and I feel my journey has come to an end. I stand up and begin to walk away. I stop dead in my tracks though and turn back. Hang from a rack above the shelf is yet another gem.
Our third holiday classic has been immortalized, and what a beautiful thing it is. Here's Harry...and his extra floating head staring at me. That creepy smile on his face like he's up to no good, which of course he is.
WHY THE HELL ARE YOU DRESSED LIKE A CHICKEN
I can see there's boxes behind Harry. Deep inside I'm hoping it's Randy from A Christmas Story behind him. I swear, if I find that, I'm buying all three. Another Harry is hiding behind the first one. I see one more box. Please let it be Randy, PLEASE let it be...
Noooooooooo! It's Marv! Now I've got tears of laughter in my eyes. I'm dead at this point. His floating head has me floored. It's after he gets smashed by the hot iron. That's it, I'm sold. I'm buying all five of these. I mean surely they've got to be on holiday clearance. What a great way to decorate inside the house next holiday season right?
Hopes and dreams shattered once again as I reach the check price scanner. $35 per character. I like em, but not $175+tax like em. Guess they'll have to wait until they're on clearance. Either way, it's gotta be one of the more interesting things I've ever found in Target.
So make sure as you're wandering the massive amounts of aisles at either store that you keep your eyes open. There are some gems to pick out in these places.
