I understand why we have the time change. However, my body doesn't understand and it revolts every time we have to "Spring Forward." So why do I dislike the time change so much, here are my reasons.

    Internal Clock Gets Wacky

My internal clock doesn't know the time changed. So when my body thinks it is 5 am it is really 6 am and when my body thinks it is 10:30 pm it is really 11:30 pm and keeping a sleep schedule doesn't work when you are waking up early and going to bed late.

    Cranky Children

There is nothing worse than trying to get a child out of bed when they are cranky. For me, this morning was horrible because my 5-year old did not want to get out of bed. As far as his little body was concerned it was still sleep time. When a toddler wants to sleep, they want to sleep and when you pull them out of bed while they are still half asleep then crankiness ensues. This makes for interesting mornings to say the least.

    Bedtime

I'm one of those people who live by the early to bed, early to rise mantra. I love to sleep so when I have those nights when I can climb into bed at 9pm I will! However, when it is still daylight outside it is kind of hard to go to sleep. On that same note when you have a child who has a bedtime between 8 and 8:30pm the daylight makes it hard to convince them that it is time for bedtime.

    Lose Sleep

The number one reason I don't like the "Spring Forward" Time change is I lose sleep. I don't like to lose sleep and 1 whole hour disappeared this past weekend. Luckily, I'll gain it back in November.
