How To Not Lose Sleep After The Time Change
Sleep is hard enough! Right? But with the extra hour this weekend we need to let it not mess up our sleep.
So of course we turn the clock back an hour before we go to bed Saturday night. That is nice. We get an extra hour of sleep. The only problem is the time change can mess with you and even make you feel more tired than you already are.
There are some ways though to keep that from happening.
You need to stick to that sleep pattern you have. Sunday morning you will feel refreshed because of that extra hour but the problem is trying to sleep that night.
Limit the use of technology in your bedroom. Don't flip through your phone Sunday night. Don't get on Facebook to tell everyone you can't sleep. Don't get on YouTube. It will be tempting but it will make it even harder for you to fall asleep.
The blue light from your phones screen will just mess with your ability to sleep even more. The key is to try not to use technology (aka your phone, iPad, etc.) for at least an hour before you go to bed.
Naps are probably my favorite thing about the weekends but avoid them on Sunday at all cost. A nap could actually lower the quality of your actual sleep later that night. If you just have to nap make sure that it is a short nap. Limit them to only 10 or 20 minutes.
Here is to all of us getting to sleep Sunday night!
