Hey there, Rick Andrews here. I thought I would give you a little background about me. I was born and raised in Bangor, Maine and was bitten by the radio "bug" since the age of 7. By the time I was 14 years old I got my dream job and "cracked the mic" for the first time and have never looked back. My career has taken me from Maine, New York, California and New Mexico. Rick has been described as a "walking encyclopedia" of music info and trivia. When not on the air at Mix 94.1, I enjoy reading entertainment Biographies, Sci-Fi and management books. I also enjoy sketching, painting, drawing and practicing card & coin magic. You usually can find me on the air Monday through Friday from 3pm-7pm.

This Has Got To Be One Of My Biggest Pet Peeves
Awhile back Lori had wrote about one of her big pet peeves and, I have to admit, it's one of mine too. But, over the past few weeks a new peeve has risen to 'the top of the charts, so to speak, for me.
Children’s Miracle Network – Become A Miracle Maker And Show Your Pride
We are well under way with the second and final day of our CMN Celebration.
One thing we never really mention on the air during our broadcast is the CMN 'merch' that is available.
If you stop by BSA and head to the second floor, near the cafeteria, you will find some various t-shirts available to purchase. The...
Children’s Miracle Network – Why You Don’t Know The Total Amount Raised Until The Very End
We are well under way with the second and final day of the 2013 CMN Celebration.
A lot of people ask us during Celebration, "How much money have you raised so far?" To be honest, we don't know until close to 7:00pm on Friday night, as we wrap up the broadcast.
Children’s Miracle Network – Karon, My Best Buddy
Every year we set up camp at BSA for our Children's Miracle Network Celebration. It's two days that we devote to helping those Miracle Kiddos here in the Panhandle. Over the years we have met many families and heard many stories. Some inspiring, some heartbreaking and some that are ongoing. Three or so years ago, I met one of those kiddos that has become one of my best buddies.
What A Wild Ride – Last Night’s Storm Adventure
Hopefully, you are safe and sound after last night storm that rolled through town.
In the seven years that I have lived in Amarillo, this was the closest that I have come near a storm that felt that strong. It was pretty much an adventure, to say the least.
Famous People From the State of Maine – Three Whom I’ve Met, Three Whom I Haven’t
Most people know of Maine because of writer Stephen King. But we do have some other famous people who came from my home state.
I was watching 'Criminal Minds' last night and one of the actresses looked familiar – just like one of the people on one of the other shows I watch – 'Continuum.' I looked her up, and found out she's from Maine! It got me thinking, who else is from Maine? Check out my list
Rick’s Review ‘The Pros & KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAN’ of Star Trek Into Darkness [Spoilers]
I would consider myself a pretty hardcore Trekkie. When living in California, I had the opportunity to visit the Deep Space 9 stages on the Paramount lot and also was able to attend the premiere of Star Trek: First Contact at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

In Honor Of Rick’s 30 Year Highschool Reunion – The Top 5 Songs From 1984 [VIDEO]
I was looking over my Facebook page the other night and found out that my graduating class of 1984 (Bangor High School) is beginning the planning stages of our - GASP - 30th High School Reunion.
Even though it's been almost 30 years since I've seen most of my classmates, I do keep up with a lot of them on Facebook and we post on each others 'walls' from time to time.
5 Movies That Never Should Have Had Sequels [VIDEO]
I was channel surfing last night and landed on Arnold Schwarzenegger's movie 'Predator.' It wasn't one of my favorite AH-Nold movies, but all-in-all, it was a decent flick. But that got me thinking about some movies that I thought were great and then how Hollywood had to go 'back to the well' and start cranking out sequels. Not all sequels are bad, but as the numbers got bigger, the plots got smal
