One thing you have to get used to in Amarillo, Texas, is construction. It seems like there is constantly some road project interrupting your drive. New buildings are going up for businesses that are moving to town.

Another type of construction project started today, and it is going to last for a long time. If you have business at the Amarillo Municipal Court, parking is about to become a nightmare.

What’s Under Construction at Amarillo Municipal Court

The City of Amarillo posted information to social media today regarding construction that will be taking place in the parking lot of the Municipal Court. The project will last through January 5, 2026.

During this time, there will be no parking on the south side of the building, and the main court entrance will also be closed. As if having to appear in court wasn't a bummer enough, now this.

Parking & Entrance Changes Through Jan 5, 2026

There will be limited parking on the north side of the building. You'll be able to access the court by using the Police Department entrance. They do mention that there will be directional signs posted to help you out.

Your best bet might be to just use the virtual court option. You can request to appear virtually on the City of Amarillo website.

When it comes to payments, you do have a couple of options available. There is a night drop box that is located in the vestibule on the north side of the building. You can also make online payments on the City of Amarillo website.

It sounds like it's going to be a bit of a headache for a while if you have business to attend to at the Municipal Court. Hopefully, there won't be any delays, and January 5 will get here sooner rather than later.

Amarillo Landmarks: Negative Yelp Reviews

Yelp can be a strange and angry place. That's what I found out recently when I decided to sort the reviews by "lowest rating" first.

I was okay with the people upset over bad service and what not. But I came across a few reviews that, for lack of a better word, left me speechless in their scathing negative reviews on some of Amarillo's most iconic places. Prepare your self for plenty of head shaking and "I dunno" shrugs.
