Amarillo Hispanic Heritage Luncheon Announced. Nominate Someone For An Award!
A lot of times, people do good things and get no recognition at all for it.
Granted, those people doing good things aren't necessarily seeking recognition. They do it because they care.
However, I firmly believe that someone doing a lot of good for the community should get recognized for their work. Without those people, the world can turn into a free for all.
Los Barrios de Amarillo, the Barrio Neighborhood Planning Committee, and the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce all agree that those people should get recognition. That's why they've teamed up to bring us the Amarillo Hispanic Heritage Luncheon on October 12.
The event will be held at the Amarillo Civic Center Grand Plaza with the event starting at noon, and lunch beginning to be served at 11:30 am.
It will highlight several different members of the Hispanic community who are doing good things as well as some local leaders.
Now, this is an event where they're giving the public the chance to nominate people who are leaders in their community. Ultimately, it's those IN the community who are aware of what those around them are doing for it.
The awards that will be handed out include Young Rising Star, Business Community Service, Hispanic Woman of the Year, Hispanic Man of the Year, and Lifetime Heart of the Barrio.
If you want to see what those awards will be given out for, or if you'd like to nominate someone for an award, you can click here to do so.
Give someone the recognition they deserve for making our communities a better place. We could certainly use some good in the world.
