With July Fourth right around the corner, you might forget to check what is closed for the holiday. Even more importantly, you might forget to check your trash pickup schedule.

If you have any business you need to take care of, you might want to do so soon. Here's what you can expect to be closed this Friday for the Fourth of July.

The City of Amarillo has released its schedule for the Fourth of July. As you might have guessed, pretty much everything involving the City will be closed.

What Will Be Closed on July 4 In Amarillo, Texas

City Hall and the Municipal Court will be closed. All public library locations will be closed as well. City Transit operations will also be closed. All of this is no big surprise.

For a lot of us, the important thing is to figure out when we're supposed to wheel our trash cart out to the curb for pickup. If you're lucky enough to have one of the fancy trash bins, here's what you need to know.

Trash Pickup Changes In Amarillo, Texas

Residential routes that usually run on Thursday will run on Wednesday this week. Residential routes that run on Friday will run on Thursday.

Commercial routes will all run on Thursday, and there will be no curbside collection on Friday. Of course, the landfill and brush sites will both be closed for the Fourth.

Still Open: Amarillo Golf Courses

If you're planning on working on your golf swing for the Fourth of July, you're in luck. The Ross Rogers and Comanche Trail golf courses will have normal hours of operation.

Don't forget, since it is a Federal holiday, post offices and most banks are closed for the Fourth of July. Get your business done early, and make sure you get your trash out on time.

Amarillo and Canyon Farmer's Markets

Amarillo and Canyon have some great community and farmers' markets.

They take place in the summer into early fall. It's an opportunity to find fresh produce, one-of-a-kind items, jams, jellies, bread, and more.

Golden Spread Farmers Market - 3701 Plains Blvd. Parking Lot
Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 7 am until sell out.
Early in the season of this market produce is scarce as the season moves on and crops are harvested, you'll see more and more of your favorite veggies.
