Amarillo Unveils Trial Drive-thru For Your Utility Bills
If you think back, you might remember the City of Amarillo Utility Billing Mobile Unit. It looks a little like a food truck, but instead of tacos, they take your money and let you keep the water on at your house.
The City of Amarillo Utility Billing Mobile Unit is back in action at the new City Hall, and it could become a permanent fixture.
The History Of Amarillo's Utility Billing Mobile Unit
The City of Amarillo's Utility Billing Mobile Unit was rolled out in 2021. The goal with the mobile unit was to give customers a convenient option for paying.

The mobile unit has a couple of walk-up windows and a drive-thru window. It's like a fast food restaurant. If the drive-thru line is longer than you think you can handle, you can stare at the walk-up window while you wait in line for the drive-thru.
The drive-thru is currently available Monday through Friday from 11 AM until 2 PM. You can find it on the north side of the new City Hall.
The Drive-Thru Option Isn't Permanent...Yet
There is one catch to the deployment of the mobile unit's drive-thru. It isn't permanent. Not yet.
Right now is a "trial phase" of using the drive-thru at the new City Hall. The goal with this trial is to see if there's a real interest in having a permanent drive-thru option at the City Hall for those dropping off payments.
Of course, if you have any questions at all about getting your utility bill paid with the City, you can check out the PayAMA page on their website.
