If you're traveling on Bell in Amarillo today, you need to be prepared for the intersection at 34th. We all joke about the traffic cones that sprout in town overnight, and it seems like they've struck again. This time it's resulted in some lane closures and an intersection you need to be cautious going through.

Northbound Lanes Closed At 34th And Bell

If you're traveling south on Bell toward 34th, all you need to be prepared for is a closed left-turn lane. That's easy enough to navigate and it doesn't really impede the flow of traffic. The reason why it's closed is that it is now the single northbound lane.

If you're traveling north, be prepared for people trying to shove their way into the left lane at the very last second. Both northbound lanes are closed at the intersection in front of the Toot'N Totum. If you're turning north on Bell, be sure you make it into the proper lane. This morning I watched someone sit in the middle of the intersection for way too long trying to figure it out. Pay attention. It will save you a similar awkward moment.

It's No Surprise That There's Surprise Construction In Amarillo

Hopefully, the work that's being done there doesn't take too long. While it isn't the biggest inconvenience on the face of the planet, it does add a certain level of frustration trying to get through the area. A lot of that frustration wouldn't exist if everyone would just pay attention and do what needs to be done.

Slow down in the work zone, and don't be that person trying to squeeze in at the very last second.
