Do You Hide Purchases from Your Significant Other? — Survey of the Day
Between online shopping and the proliferation of credit cards there has never been an easier time to buy things. And because making a purchase has become such a breeze, it has also become easier to hide these buys from your spouse.
But are folks regularly engaging in this deception?
They sure are, according to a survey of 2,000 consumers by Debenhams Personal Finance. Sixty percent of the poll’s respondents admitted that they have lied to a spouse or partner about the number and the cost of items they have bought. Additionally, thirty-three percent copped to keeping this information from their parents.
But those deceivers have nothing on the most devious of spenders. The survey also found that eight percent have a secret credit card that their other half has no knowledge of whatsoever.
