This time of year we are still in the mindset for the most part of trying to lose some of that holiday weight. I mean it's hard not to put it on that time of year. There is food everywhere.

Of course one of the pitfalls of being adults is finding the time to cook  those healthy meals that we need. Sometimes there is just not enough hours in the day. So we head to the drive thru or we call something in to go. I get it. It is so convenient. I don't know if you are anything like me but I find it hard to go out to eat and eat healthy. I know there are plenty of options but after a long day it is sometimes SO hard to be good.

I mean I can go home and cook a healthy meal. If I am out I usually want something I usually can't make at home. Now I can't make it only because I usually try to keep healthy food on hand. It makes it harder for me to slip. So yeah going out to eat can be tough on the waistline.

Now the wallet. Have you ever stopped to think how much you spend on eating out? According to a new survey the average person spends around $281 every month just going out to eat. That adds up to $3,372 every year. In your lifetime that is more than $200,000.

So if you are looking to cut back on your spending and your weight gain you may want to limit your trips out to eat. Unless you just have much more willpower than I do.
