Downtown Amarillo Moondoggy’s Taking A Covid Hit
We need to step up and help our favorite restaurants. We live in a place where regardless of Covid we need to support our local businesses. A lot were hit hard back in March and here we go again the restaurants are taking a hit. It is hard to stay afloat when you can't open up all the way.
I don’t get this rationale. I mean we want Amarillo to survive. We are stepping up and trying to help. We started taking a lot of to-go and curbside. We even had food delivered and bought gift cards. We don't want to see our favorite places fail.
I can’t tell you how many times I have spent downtown at Moondoggy’s they have such great pizza. It is a quick walk from my Downtown employer. The problem, though, is with a lot of businesses still working from home they are not getting the lunch crowds.
So I saw this on Facebook today. Sad really? Limiting the hours because they are missing the business.
Covid 19 has hit some businesses harder than others. Staffing shortages and low profits are taking its toll on a lot of small business owners. Sadly, we are one of those that have been affected by both. Starting this week we will only be opening from 11:00 am-10:00 pm Friday and Saturday. We want to continue to serve our community so we pray that this will all be over soon. We will still be open for our Off The Hook throwback event this Wednesday July 15th. Please come see us!
So what can we do to help? Go see them on the those couple of days open. Order food to go. We do not want to see another place fail.
