This is so blatantly idiotic, so profoundly stupid, that when I heard about this it made my blood boil. I've been able to avoid these rumors, apparently, because I don't involve myself with the disgraceful moron-a-thon that is modern U.S. politics. There are really people who believe this?

A Social Media Hoax That Won't Stop, That Is Back In The Panhandle

A friend sent a screenshot to me of a conversation regarding schools putting litter boxes in bathrooms for students who identify as cats. Read that again. Take your time. Let it swirl in your brain bucket for a second, and then we'll continue.

Litter boxes. In bathrooms. For students who identify as cats?

It just sounds so...dumb.

Yet, here we are. Rumors are circulating that schools in the area are adding litter boxes to bathrooms. So, I decided to do a little digging.

I'm Not Saying School Administrators Are Always Right, But Even This Is A Stretch

Before I even made a phone call, I decided to find other instances of this being implemented anywhere in the U.S. Amarillo isn't really known for leading the way with these types of issues, so it would be really silly to think that we were the first.

Come to find out, there are instances of these rumors being spread all over the country. We're definitely not the first.

As I'm researching all the different stories, I stumbled upon a mind blowing realization.

No School Provides Litter Boxes To "Cat Students"

Especially, in Texas. It's not happening at any of these places either. In fact, it isn't happening anywhere. No one has ever been able to prove that schools are putting litter boxes in bathrooms.

There is one example though of a school utilizing "go buckets" in case of a lock down. If this is where all of the rumors started, everyone who has passed these idiotic rumors along since should feel ashamed of themselves.

This isn't the first time we've seen something like this. Looking back now, we can all admit it was pretty dumb for the FBI to waste resources on investigating the song "Louie Louie" by The Kingsmen. Yet, it happened.

Now, thanks to social media and everyone's need for scandal and conspiracy, there are people who actually are willing to believe that a school would put a litter box in a bathroom for a child to use.

Repeat after me. The litter box, is a lie.

Just stop it.

I love Google. It can literally answer ANYTHING you need it to answer. Whether it's right or wrong is a totally different question.

Recently, I found myself wondering about something and went to Google. And that's when I started noticing the "people also asked..." section and BOY...Some of them made perfect sense, some of them were interesting, and one of them was downright baffling...and it was a top 10 question which is even more absurd.

Amarillo is a pretty quirky place. We've got the Big Texan, the weird signs, and (obviously) the famed Cadillac Ranch. But more than that, there's a distinct culture of close-knit community, eccentrics, a thriving arts scene, and much more.

The point is, living in Amarillo is a unique experience. Because of that, it's really pretty easy to tell who's a native or a long-time resident. And I can prove it.
