A few months ago Amarillo seniors were excited for the end of the school year. They had proms and graduation to look forward to. They were ordering their caps and gowns and shopping for dresses. Then Spring Break got here and the beginning of the end of the hopes of returning to the classroom.
So remember back in the day when school wouldn't start until after Labor Day? Yeah, those days are long gone. It started to seem though that school would start earlier and earlier each year.
It seems that threats are being taken more seriously in the wake of the school shooting in Florida. We have had several teenagers arrested lately in the area for making threats against our schools. Yesterday, Amarillo Police were investigating a threat made towards Austin Middle School.
