October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I know it doesn't seem like something fun to celebrate. It's not. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. It is important for women to keep an eye on the signs.

Just so you know men can get breast cancer too. It's not just something that women get. Most people don't know that.

I know this year has been a scary one for me. When I had my most recent mammogram they did find a few spots in my one breast. So now here I was having to worry whether or not it was cancer. You go through all the worries.

I never thought this would be something I would have to worry about. Nobody ever does. I ended up having to have surgery. So yes, it's scary. That was just this year. Had I not gone for my regular check-up and had a mammogram it could have been much worse.

They removed the spots so they will never turn into cancer luckily. I was fortunate that they caught it early and it was not cancer. You better believe I will be at every one of my appointments. This is something I don't want to go through again.

The earlier they find it the better. So that is why my friend, Sherry, walks in the Three-Day for Susan G Komen. She raises money and walks sixty miles each walk. It's a three-day walk and twenty miles each day. This is why I train with her. I want to encourage her to raise the money and do the walk. This year she is doing multiple walks

She has one weekend she will be walking in Dallas then a couple of weekends later she will be in San Diego.

I am a believer in putting an end to breast cancer. We would love for it to happen in our lifetime. So wear your pink this month. Get your mammograms when you are scheduled. Help support putting an end to breast cancer HERE.
