I went to the post office the other day to mail out some Christmas gifts. Usually, I just go the gift card route. So much easier. I just have to put the gift card in an envelope with a regular old stamp. Mission accomplished.

This year my daughter wanted to make all these crafty gifts with photos of her daughter. I get it. Laila is pretty darn cute. I mean I am not biased at all. So all of these involved being packaged up and mailed.

While I was there I wanted to make sure when the deadline was to get stuff out in the mail. I mean you want to make sure everything is there to open up Christmas morning. The deadline is nearing. So I wouldn't wait.

Just know that you will encounter longer than usual lines at the post offices here in Amarillo. They have plenty of people working to help make those lines go as fast as possible. When I got to the post office on Western there were about ten people in front of me. I was surprised by how fast my wait took. Kudos to the employees for hustling. I was quite impressed.

If your plans are to mail everything by First Class mail then make sure you have everything to the post office by December 17th to make sure they are there in time.

You have a little more time if you are going Priority Mail. The deadline to have everything to the post office is December 19th.

Now if you are a last-minute person and don't mind paying the price you can really procrastinate. The deadline to mail things out by Priority Mail Express is December 22nd.

So there are options but the earlier you get them mailed out the better you will feel about everything else. You can get one thing marked off that crazy long to-do list this Christmas season.
