For those who grew up in Texas Panhandle, Pak-A-Sak was the go-to convenience store (especially in the smaller towns).  The first Pak-A-Sak was opened in Canyon in 1978 by Dale and Joyce McKee. The store just recently celebrated its 45th anniversary.

Those who have been in Canyon or attended WTAMU in Canyon, have probably stopped and grabbed a drink and snack or gas at the original Pak-A-Sak.

Pak-A-Sak belongs in every city it can move into because it really is a great store to run in and run out and the staff is always friendly.

When Pak-A-Sak announced it was moving into Lubbock, the people of the Texas Panhandle made sure to share with their Lubbock friends and family how they need to make sure Pak-A-Sak is the convenience store to shop.

Lubbock currently has two stores the first one was built at 606 N. Frankford and the second was built in 2021 at University and 130th.

An announcement was made in December that Pak-A-Sak will be building two more stores one at 98th and Upland and the other at 34th and Upland.

The project has been registered for 98th and Upland, and construction should begin in March that area should have its brand-new Pak-A-Sak by 2024.  The cost for the store is $2.7 million.

Pak-A-Sak has made its way into Lubbock gifting the citizens with a great convenience store.  However, the unspoken convenience store battle continues as the nemesis of Pak-A-Sak has also started opening stores in Hub City.
