My Review Of The New Sonic Queso Burger

The other day I was finishing up some work for my other job. I had some time so I decided to watch a little TV before I had to head back up to the station for another round of Birthday Parades.

Now I will tell you that advertising does work. As I was watching TV the new commercial for Sonic’s Queso Burger came on. The commercial was cute. That family was talking about how you can’t make a burger at home for $3.99 (the price of the new Queso Burger). Then the kids said “yeah you have to buy the meat....the bread...the grill”. Then I get into my email and a couple different of my accounts had an email from Sonic. Guess what they wanted me to try? Of course the Queso Burger. They got me hook, line and sinker.

So I downloaded the Sonic app because I heard how awesome the app was. I got registered and my reward? A half price Queso Burger. Score!

Plus if you order on the app you get Happy Hour price drinks all day. So I ordered and got my burger, large fries, and an unsweet ice tea all for $6.35. What a great price. So I headed to the Sonic on Georgia and grabbed my food.

Would the burger live up to my expectations? I got it home and at first sight the fries left something to desire. They were just ok. A little on the old side. It was, though, the burger I cared about.

So I tried it. What’s on it? Shredded cheddar cheese, grilled onions, Hatch Green Chiles, Queso and Mayo. Now usually I don’t like mayo on anything. They usually goop it on so bad. I didn’t know this burger came with mayo on it otherwise I would have said no. But Sonic sure didn't goop the mayo on it. I couldn't even tell there was any added. So that is a win in my book.

 I will show you what it looks like when I remove the top bun. Don't let the looks scare you off. It's queso and such on a burger. It doesn't look all that great but trust me the taste is where it's at/

I will say this burger really is good. I was afraid it would be messy and I would have cheese dripping all over...but I didn’t. It was definitely a great fast food burger. I will get it again. The best part was I ordered this on Cinco de Mayo. I felt since it had queso that I could technically say I was still celebrating without having to wait in those long lines for tacos. Another win in my book.

So if you want to try the Queso Burger I do suggest downloading the app and getting the burger for half price. What can I say, I love food but I love a good deal even more.
