I'm an optimist, The forecast this weekend calls for a little bit of rain. Maybe we get lucky and it just stays cloudy and cool, after all who doesnt love a nice breeze when you're getting your hike on. There's plenty of great places to hike that are easily within an hour of Amarillo.

Let's start with the most obvious, Palo Duro is always a great place to get away with over 42 miles of trails rating from Beginner to Pro there is something for literally everyone. A good word of advice it does get hotter on the canyon floor so carrying extra water is certainly a must. There are great Glamping options here too

Amarillo Landmarks: Negative Yelp Reviews

Yelp can be a strange and angry place. That's what I found out recently when I decided to sort the reviews by "lowest rating" first.

I was okay with the people upset over bad service and what not. But I came across a few reviews that, for lack of a better word, left me speechless in their scathing negative reviews on some of Amarillo's most iconic places. Prepare your self for plenty of head shaking and "I dunno" shrugs.

The Hidden Life of Chillicothe, the Littlest "Big Town" on US-287

If you've driven between Amarillo and Dallas at any point of your life, you've gone through Chillicothe. This sleepy town seems nearly abandoned at first glance.....but wait! There's a little glimmer of life in there yet....Take a look at what's stirring within the Iris Village.
