In the past couple of weeks, plumbing problems have been at the top of a lot of our minds. I've suffered my own issues with broken pipes recently. Even the City of Amarillo isn't immune from the woes that come with busted water pipes.

The Globe News Center has suffered damage thanks to one such busted line.

Globe News Center In Amarillo Suffers Damage

Didn't we just go through this with the Civic Center? In a way, yes. The Civic Center was a sewer pipe. This time it was a line in the fire suppression system, according to a press release from the City.

The press release states that it happened on Dec 24. It also states that it was due to a parts failure, not the recent cold weather.

Unfortunately, they expect the repairs to take several weeks.

Are Performances Being Canceled At The Globe News Center?

Thankfully, the press release points out that the stage and seating area were not harmed. It stayed mostly to the north side of the building, affecting mainly restrooms and carpeting.

There is one event that has been moved to the Civic Center.

Unfortunately there isn't a date given for when they expect repairs to be finished. The press release just states that more information will be coming soon. Hopefully they get it all sorted out sooner, rather than later.

December was rough on the places where we like to hold our events. Hopefully, once everything is fixed and taken care of, this won't be an issue for a long time.

What are the chances that both would suffer water issues in one month?
