1954 - "Rock Around the Clock" was released on this day by Bill Haley and the Comets.  It went on to reach number one on the Billboard Charts as the first rock n roll song.

1969 - The Turtles played the White House. Their front man kept falling off the stage.

1976 - Kiss' "Spaceman" Ace Frehley married Jeanette Trerotola.  One of Ace's friends kissed Jeanette's dad, a very important Teamster, on the lips.  A riot nearly broke out at the reception.
