Collecting physical media like CDs, cassettes, and even records has become a major hobby for many people. It's more than the media itself that makes it so appealing. It's the feelings and memories that come with it.

In Amarillo, Texas, there are still some places you can go to find DVDs. You might have to do some digging, and finding exactly what you're looking for may be tough, but at least there are options.

Pawn Shops: Unexpected DVD Gold Mines

Pawn shops, oddly enough, are decent places to find DVDs. The selection might not be as big as what you are hoping to find, but it's there.

What is interesting about pawn shops and DVDs is some of the movies you will find. I have found some incredibly obscure movies sitting in a pawn shop rack. It's worth taking a look.

Thrift Stores: Hidden Treasure Troves

Another place worth checking out is a thrift store. As with pawn shops, the selection probably won't be the biggest, and there's no telling what will even be available. However, if you're looking to get your hands on some DVDs, it could be a treasure trove.

From time to time, I've seen various DVDs at different thrift stores in Amarillo. I would call around to different ones and ask if they have any DVDs available before making the trip.

You can also check some of the other stores in town that cater to collectors. Record stores and game stores often have a small selection of DVDs. Once again, it's always best to check first before making the trip.

Big-Box Retailers That Still Carry Physical Media

Some of the bigger stores still sell DVDs as well. Target and Best Buy have phased out selling DVDs and Blu-Rays, but other stores are sticking with them for now.

Walmart still sells DVDs. The selection isn't quite as big as it once was, but there are still plenty available. You can usually find new releases, and they often have box sets and collections that make building your collection easy.

Barnes & Noble is another place that still sells DVDs and Blu-Rays, and it's one you probably wouldn't have expected. They still sell all of their classic movie collections and run specials.

The iconic (and at times silly) toys, technologies, and electronics have been usurped since their grand entrance, either by advances in technology or breakthroughs in common sense.
