A Wall Of Encouragement In Downtown Amarillo
There is nothing like words of encouragement to get you through your day. It can really be the difference sometimes from a bad to a good day. It's always nice to stumble across some words along your journey.
I also work in a building in Downtown Amarillo and this building has underground tunnels. We use one tunnel to get over to the Toot n' Totum when we need snacks. I mean when it's cold out we are much happier staying inside longer. So one part of the tunnel takes us across the street from there. This way we are outside a much shorter time. That makes us very happy.
There is another tunnel and it just looks cool. Reminds me of a fun house ride. This second tunnel just leads to a locked door. I did some research and read that it leads to The Simms Municipal Building located at 8th and Buchanan.
The door is secured and you have to have FOB access to enter.
We happen across that tunnel a lot. Especially this time of year. People want to get walking and "get their steps in" but want to stay indoors. So maybe that is the meaning behind what is at the end of this tunnel.
These words of encouragement just started popping up last year. There were some but nothing like now. The whole area is full. The words that are posted are just way cool.
We even have a Bobby Bones fan or two!
The first was left by an employee there.....it was noticed by my co-worker, Sarina, who is a HUGE Bobby Bones fan. She left the pink sticky's. The two had a Bobby Bones conversation using stuff they say on the show. Neither one knows who left the responses. How cool.
Oh and of course I wanted to join in on the fun!
So if you happen to know how these messages started at a random locked door in Downtown Amarillo....I would love to know. Comment below.
