In case you didn't know, Amarillo has a free clinic available to provide healthcare to the uninsured. The free clinic is Heal The City, and this month we've all got a chance to help them continue to provide their much-needed services in our city. The best part is, it isn't going to require a lot for us to be able to help out.

According to a press release, the "Change For The Better" kick-off celebration will be happening at Toot'n Totum's travel center at 8507 E-I40. "Change For The Better" will go from June 17 through July 5, giving you the opportunity to round up your purchase total to help out a very worthy cause.

What Is Amarillo's Free Health Clinic?

Heal The City is Amarillo's free health clinic providing much-needed care to those of us who are uninsured. The services they offer go way beyond just check-ups. They take care of:

  • Dental
  • Vision
  • Acute Care
  • Chronic Care
  • Mental Healthcare
  • Labs
  • Immunizations
  • Prescriptions
  • Spiritual Care
  • Wellness Program

They're open five days a week, and according to the press release are currently home to 637 chronically ill individuals.

I imagine that providing free healthcare can be a very expensive endeavor. It's great that we have an opportunity coming up to help out by simply rounding up our purchases at Toot'n Totum. The press release also states that Toot'n Totum will match the first $20,000 raised. That's a lot of money that's going to have a massive impact.
