Did You See “People React To Being Called Beautiful” in Amarillo

A friend of mine passed this along to me this morning, and I had never seen it. I only became aware of the original video earlier this year.

I've noticed the "People React To Being Called Beautiful" video being shared a lot. The original video is about 5 years old, and has been re-shared and memed all over the internet this year.

I'm guessing it's because a lot of us are trying our best to find things to smile about, still, in 2020. These videos are heartwarming, and it is awfully hard to not smile while watching them.

I was shocked to learn that someone had recreated the social experiment right here in Amarillo.

The premise is pretty simple. Set up a camera, and film what happens when you tell someone they're beautiful. The videos choose people from all walks of life, and the reactions are priceless.

The most interesting part for me is the answers given to the question about a "beautiful memory." I won't spoil it for you, but there are some moments that will yank on your heartstrings as hard as they can.

The video isn't very long, and it will definitely make you smile.

As we get ready to say "get the hell out" to 2020, take a little time to smile and remember that we're all beautiful in our own way. We have just a little over three weeks left in this absolute pile of a year. Let's try to end it with a smile.
