Get Ready For Free Fishing Day In Texas This Saturday, June 6
If you're wanting to get the family out of the house this weekend, and in to the great outdoors, the Free Fishing Day in Texas is coming up this Saturday.
This would be a great opportunity to get the kids out of the house. They've been cooped up for a while now, and it will give them something to do without costing you a ton of money.
Free Fishing Day is the first Saturday in June every year, and it's the day when Texans are allowed to fish on a public "waterbody" without having to have a license.
I think this would be a great way to spend a Saturday. Some of my best memories growing up all start with a fishing trip.
The Texas Parks & Wildlife website has several resources available if you need help planning your fishing trip. They have a Fishing 101 video series you can watch for some tips and tricks.
They also have resources available that you can use to find a place to go and fish this Saturday. If you're hoping to avoid some crowded shoreline, you might want to check these resources to pick a few spots to try.
The Texas Parks & Wildlife website does mention that they hope this event will help inspire people to buy a fishing license. The purchasing of a license goes to help with conservation efforts.
