I know a lot of people are guilty of buying their own Christmas present while they are out shopping. Do you do this? Are you guilty?

You know the moment you are out shopping and you find that one thing you really want. Oh and it is on sale right now. So what do you do? You buy it and wrap it and put it under the tree. Do you do that too?

Well over the past weekend I experienced something like that. I bought me my own present. Oh but I am not waiting until Christmas. Do I feel guilty? Nope and here is why.

This is what I bought.

I needed a new Fitbit in the worst way. I had an Alta but it got to the point that it wouldn't hold a charge. So I would charge it ALL night (doing that I didn't get to monitor my sleep habits) and wear it all day. So by the time I got home from work I may have been at 10,000 steps but my Fitbit was about to die.

I couldn't live like that. Monitoring my steps, sleep and all that is important to me. So when I saw the Fitbit Versa on sale this weekend I snatched it up. I thought I might go ahead and wrap it and put it under my tree when it got delivered. Yeah that didn't happen.

It got delivered yesterday and I was about at my wits end with my dying battery on my Alta so I gave in to the temptation. I figured not only can I monitor my sleep but I didn't have to wrap it. Saved me that work.

I have only had it a short while but I do love the way it tracks my sleep. It shows me how much deep, light and REM sleep I managed to get last night.

So that is pretty cool. I look forward to learning more about my sleep pattern. I can't wait to test out the other features of the phone. It already woke me up this morning. It vibrates as my alarm is set to go off. I loved that feature on my old watch. I will love it on this one. I didn't like the lack of instructions so it took me awhile to figure out how to turn it off.

Each time I thought I did it right it turns out I was just snoozing it. It would go off again in a few minutes (just as a hint there is a "check mark" that you hit to turn it off). I know now. The old watch you would just tap the screen.

Apparently I can also monitor my exercising including swimming. So I guess that it is waterproof. I am not sure I want to test that though. Just to be safe.

So anyway I bought me a present and I don't feel guilty at all. I can justify that I really needed it. What have you bought yourself so far this year?
