Severe weather season is a busy time for storm chasers, or spotters here in the Texas Panhandle. We have some very active storms. In fact in an area that we can see all the different seasons in one day how can we not be a little excited about it?
Over the weekend there had been rescues in Palo Duro Canyon due to the extreme heat. They even sent out messages that they were closing the trail to the Lighthouse on Sunday.
We are inching closer to the month of May and in 2021 I will say our weather has had it all already. We have had rain, snow, wind, sunshine, and tornados. We have even had an earthquake in the area. Just another day in the Texas Panhandle.
Even with record rainfalls to kick off October, we will see a risk of wildfires return to the Texas panhandle for the rest of the week and into the weekend.
