Please, for the love of all that is sacred and holy to humanity, don't start hoarding toilet paper over the light snow in the forecast.

It dawned on me that perhaps some of the wild creatures may be struggling to find food when the ground is covered with snow and ice. Turns out, they are.

I don't have a gym that I am a member of so I really don't have a horse in this race. I was made aware of something really awesome that Planet Fitness has changed in their employee handbook due to our weather here in Texas.

While the snow may not be falling any more, that doesn't mean we're completely out of the woods.

If you have to be out of the house this weekend, dress in layers and keep your time outside to a minimum.

We can always use the moisture. No matter what the form of it is. I would prefer the rain over the snow. That is because here in Amarillo it is hardly ever just snow. We usually have the killer winds to go with it. Oh and more often than not we have the ice as well.

So far we have had a very weird winter. We have had a bit of snow early on. The rest has been hit or miss. Don't let that fool you or even jinx us. We still have a good two months until we hit spring and even that doesn't guarantee we won't have winter here in the Texas Panhandle..

As if this week has not already been one for the books. A book that we all just want to go ahead and return, throw in the garbage, or even burn. I am not a book burner but that is how this week has been.

This has been a year already with a good amount of snow. I can't imagine we have seen the last of it for the season. So I guess I never really thought of shoveling being dangerous. I mean it makes sense. I really am not a fan of shoveling anyway...so if I can find a way to get someone else to do it. Sure I am a fan.

It doesn't look promising.

This has been a crazy week of weather. I mean we had it all. Nice weather over the weekend and then the craziness moved in the Texas Panhandle. We had thundershowers, thundersnow, ice galore, wind and snow.

As of Tuesday morning (10/27/20), flight cancellations are stacking up at Amarillo's Rick Husband International Airport.
