Take a Road Trip to Happy for Fun This Weekend
I always wanted to do small town living. I mean, heck, I grew up in the South Side of Chicago. That is as far opposite of small town living that I can think of. Still my neighborhood seemed on the small side.
Then I moved to Canyon, TX, a far cry from Chicago but still not all that small; even in the late eighties and nineties. When I say small town living one of the communities that comes to mind is Happy, TX. I have been there several times. Of course the town without a frown.
You can head out for some small town fun this weekend. After our first few days of school have hit us some fun is in order. Happy, TX, is ready to fulfill that void.
Happy Days Celebration is happening this Thursday through Saturday. Of course the big day being on Saturday. There will be a lot of fun happening not that far from Amarillo/Canyon.
Saturday morning you can get some shopping accomplished with their Arts & Crafts Sale. What kind of celebration would it be without a parade. They have you covered going down Main Street starting at 10:30am.
Of course you need to eat so there is also a barbecue open to the public starting at noon. So make sure you come hungry. Plus small town living is great since there are a few days of rodeos, dancing and even a washer pitching competition. I am not really sure how to washer pitch as I just not too long ago learned to play cornhole. I feel, though, it will be a big time.
So Happy only being a 36 mile drive from Amarillo and only seventeen minutes from Canyon this seems like a good time for the weekend. Grab your family and experience the great community of Happy, TX, and all the hospitality they have to offer.
