Walk on the Wild Side at the Amarillo Zoo!
If you need a way to keep the little ones busy, There's nothing more fun then watching kids and their fascination with Animals. Like any parent it's all about finding ways to take that wonder and make it a day of activities. If you haven't been to the Amarillo Zoo recently, It's certainly worth the trip and the best part is it won't break the budget with $4 dollar admission. This guy alone is certainly worth it, because let's face it, how can you say no to a kangaroo?
The zoo is offering regular tours on a reservation basis, and for little ones it's a great chance to get a look behind the scenes and learn more about each of the animals in their care. Much of which is part of the Zoo's steps to providing a more transparent view on how each of the animals is cared for. There's also been some cool stuff done that's worth checking out like the upgrades to the spider monkey exhibit that were provided by the community.
For folks who are looking into spring break the zoo is also offering daily encounters the entire week that will also give your little ones a chance to see and get to know the animals as well. Perhaps they can spend the entire time keeping an eye on the peacocks that roam the grounds. (Just don't try and feed them)
By the way, One other cool thing that they do is offer free admission days, which include groups such as teachers, moms, dads and veterans
One thing to note, You will still need to bring your mask while visiting the Amarillo Zoo and there are still capacity restrictions on all of the indoor spaces including the education center and the herpetarium.
