806 Health Tip: Binge Watching Is Not The Healthiest Choice
If I were to list a bunch of shows on Netflix could you honestly say you haven't binge watched them? I mean looking through Facebook I can tell a lot have watched Tiger King and Ozark that is for sure.
During this lockdown a lot of time is spent watching shows. Time that we may have otherwise been spending outside and doing actual activities. I know I can say that I have watched A LOT of shows. I have binge watched a lot. The problem, though, is it is not good for our health.
There are a few reason for this. We end up mindlessly eating while watching Netflix, Hulu or Disney+. We grab a bag of chips or a gallon of ice cream and just go to town. The extra calories that we are consuming are not going away. We are missing a lot of time moving around. We are not getting the exercise we used to.
I mean laying in bed or sitting on the couch for six or more hours is literally killing our bodies and us to be quite honest. This not moving around can lead to an increase in coronary problems. Our heart needs us to get moving more. Take your dogs for a walk. Go on a walk around the neighborhood or even Medi Park with your family. Now is the perfect time to do just that.
Go ahead and keep watching Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+, I get it we have a lot more time to do that. Just make sure you are not doing major damage to your health by not getting any exercise in. Right now you and your body need that.
