806 Health Tip: Have All The Tea And Apples You Want
You have, no doubt, heard the old saying "An apple a day keeps the doctor away." Did you know the same thing is true for something you drink?
A glass of tea as well. So maybe the new saying should be "An apple and glass of tea a day keeps the doctor away." It may not be as catchy but it is true.
Why is this true? Well according to research foods rich in flavonoids may lower your risk of death. This is especially true if you are in the group of folks that are considered heavy drinkers and smokers.
Flavonoids have anti-inflammatory effects on your body. They improve the function of your blood vessels.
So the long term benefits of eating an apple and chasing it down with a nice glass of tea includes living longer. Combining the two reduces the risk of cancer and heart disease.
The best part about having a glass of tea is that it doesn't matter if it is hot tea or iced tea. They both have flavonoids. I don't think, though, you can combine the two and have apple flavored tea. So there are no shortcuts.
You need to have at least 500mg of flavonoids per day. What if you don't like apples? Or don't like tea? Are there other items that can also help you live a fuller, longer life?
Actually you can switch it up to coffee as well. Oh and if you don't like apples then you are in luck. All fruits and vegetables have flavonoids as well. So start adding those to your diet and long live us all!
