Monday on the evening edition of The Chad Hasty Show, Jason Isaac from the Texas Public Policy Foundation appeared on the program to talk about the causes of the widespread power outages being experienced by Texans during the historic February 2021 winter storm.

While speaking about failed energy policies, and the gambling that has been done, betting Texan's lives and livelihoods on solar and wind energy, Isaac said,

Over the last four years we've lost about three thousand megawatts of electric generation in the state of Texas, with our population skyrocketing. That's three thousand megawatts of reliable generation. And we've gained about twenty thousand megawatts of unreliable generation, wind and solar...We've seen extremely low numbers of new natural gas or coal generation come on line over the last ten years, quite honestly, and that's what's hurting the state.
