REVIEW: New Grilled Spicy Deluxe Sandwich From Chick-fil-A
I finally broke down and had to try it. I love all the places having their chicken sandwich wars. We end up being the real winner during this. There ends up being plenty of places to get a great sandwich.
I have tried several of them out on the market now. Of course, I think Popeye's started it all off. They were in the news for running out of their sandwiches. It created mass hysteria. People were selling them on their own. It was crazy.
I love a great chicken sandwich. I love it even more if it can help me on my quest to lose a few pounds. A healthy version of the chicken sandwich. Oh, and you put spicy in the mix I knew I had to try it.
So Chick-fil-A introduced it's Grilled Spicy Deluxe sandwich on Monday. According to their app It is a boneless breast of chicken marinated with a blend of peppers and grilled for a tender and spicy taste, served on a toasted multigrain brioche bun with Colby Jack cheese, green leaf lettuce and tomato. Even a bigger win is that it is served with cilantro lime sauce. That sounds heavenly.
I couldn't wait any longer and had to get one yesterday. I opted to get mine without any cheese. It does come with Colby Jack but you could also opt to have Pepper Jack or American. Or none at all, which is what I did.
So what did I think about this sandwich? Did it live up to the hype? You know my first test is the spiciness of the sandwich. There really was a kick to it. Did it melt my face off....well, no--but you could definitely tell it had a kick to it.
The brioche bun was actually a perfect match for the sandwich. I think next time I will leave the lettuce and tomato off of the sandwich just so I can taste that spiciness even more.
I ordered two sandwiches both add pickles to them. I went ahead and removed the lettuce and tomato from my second sandwich. That will be what I eat later today. I like to order extra food and have another meal waiting for me. I see by their sign and Facebook posts that this sandwich is here for a limited time. So I wouldn't wait to try it.
I can only hope that this sandwich is a big hit. I would love to see it having a permanent place on the menu. I can see this one being my regular go to sandwich anytime I order from Chick-fil-A.
