Small Town Road Trips in the Texas Panhandle Needs This Stop

Last week I took a few road trips. I had to travel to White Deer, Memphis, Matador and Turkey. That was most of my week.

The best part when you are traveling anywhere outside of Amarillo, especially the small Texas Panhandle towns is well stopping for food. Each day I was out of Amarillo I had requests from coworkers to bring them back food.

This is definitely my guilty pleasure food. Apparently I am not alone in this. I had to stop and get this.....

I just had to.....

When you live in Amarillo you have to leave the city to get a gut bomb like this. The closest place is in Canyon. I even stopped there on the way back and grabbed one at the Allsup's across the street from the NOW Canyon Junior High School (that was MY high school) I spent many lunch breaks at the Allsup's. I didn't know how great I had it.

One of the things I craved when I was pregnant with Faith was an Allsup's burrito. Her dad drove to Canyon to get me one.

Every day last week, as I was heading back to Amarillo, from my out of town visits I had to stop at an Allsup's to get the girls at work burritos or chimis. I didn't hate that I had to do that. Not one bit. I grabbed me some too.

That taco sauce though! I don't know what they put in it....but I swear it's the best! I got extra of it each time and I savored the taste of it. Not a bite of that wonderful burrito went without that great taco sauce.

I didn't help my diet at all last week. Oh but I was happy!
