Amarillo has a lot of history to it. We have a lot of places to celebrate the weirdness of the city too. The first that comes to mind is the Cadillac Ranch. I mean who thinks about burying cars in the ground? Why was that even a thing?
I love scrolling through Facebook and looking at photos from Amarillo that other people post. They capture some really nice sunrises and sets. I do believe that we have the best view from our beloved city.
You take the family out to Wonderland. Sure it might rain but many times when we have a decent chance we end up with not a drop. I get it. Plus it might be a night that your work planned their company picnic. You don't want to miss the fun.
Wonderland Park is somewhere I think we all grew up at. I know I loved going as a kid when I moved to the area back in 1986. I spent many nights there in high school too. Once my daughter was born I couldn't wait to introduce her to the rides.
My daughter was in town over the weekend. Since it was Father's Day we got to talking about our Mother's Day versus Father's Day plans every year. That moved us on to Wonderland since we always knew we would spend Mother's Day at Wonderland Park.
We have had a rough past year or so. In life things have been maybe not the easiest. As we are now getting back to a bit of a normal life. We are getting to go out and do fun stuff again and that makes us happy.
In a year of uncertainty this is one of those decisions that make sense. Our Drive in Theater, Tascosa Drive In, is for sale. I get it. Now is the time. The owners are looking to retire and making those plans now.
