The Panhandle’s Gas Station Battle Just Arrived In Lubbock
It's a battle that has been raging for a long time. The war for gas station dominance in Amarillo has left us with Pak-A-Sak locations and Toot'n Totum locations scattered all over the city. In some instances, they stare each other down from across the street like two old cowboys at high noon. Amarillo was just the start.
The panhandle's biggest gas station battle has just arrived in Lubbock.
Pak-A-Sak Getting A Lubbock Location
Actually, they're getting two locations. Pak-A-Sak took to social media to announce the addition of their two Lubbock locations.
Soon, Pak-A-Sak stores #26 and #27 will be calling Lubbock home. Welcome to the gas station wars, Hub City.
Lubbock Should Have Seen This Coming
It wasn't long ago that Toot'n Totum announced they were making a jump to Lubbock. In their post on social media, back then, they did say "We'll be just around the corner before you know it."
Toot'n Totum has been doing a lot of expanding recently. After having enough locations in Yellow City to make us all wonder if there are more churches or Toot'n Totums in Amarillo, they announced Lubbock locations, and then announced they were going to be setting up shop in Lamesa.
Remember Lamesa, the official-but-not-really-official birthplace of chicken fried steak?
To think that only Toot'n Totum would be trying to cash in on the Hub City market is laughable. Of course Pak-A-Sak would take the battle to Lubbock.
By the way, look out Lubbock convenience stores and gas stations. There's the widely held belief, true or not, that the Pak-A-Sak and Toot'n Totum battle royal drove most of the other companies out of town.
Good luck, Lubbock.
