It is no surprise that we have a shortage of workers here in Amarillo. Heck, all over the country. People have been unemployed and collecting that extra cash. That is ending soon.

There are a lot of places hiring. Some of those places are offering incentives to get you to interview and even to come work for them. I have seen Taco Villa offering a $25 gift card just to interview. I also saw where Arby's was offering a $225 sign on bonus for new employees.

Businesses are trying. Some people complain that it's the unlivable wages that is creating the shortage. I think it is a mixture of the two. The unemployment being more than what you would make at work. Period. So here we are. Everyone is needing help.

I saw where not only is United Supermarkets offering an incentive for new employees. That is great. They also offer a pretty nice benefits program as well. Here is what they are offering according to their Facebook post:

We're hiring! And we're currently offering a $50 incentive after 30 days and an additional $100 after 90 days. Plus, we always offer great perks:

- Grocery discount
- Team member meal discount
- Weekly pay
- College savings and scholarship opportunities
- Career and leadership development programs
- flexible schedules
- recognition programs
- management and supervisor career paths
- team member assistance program
-vacation, personal and holiday time off
