It hasn’t even been a month since Karina Smirnoff and her dance partner, JR Martinez, won the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy on Dancing With The Stars. But now the word is that she has called off her engagement with Tigers Pitcher Brad Penny.

During this past season of DWTS, Smirnoff said that she would be postponing the wedding plans so she could focus all her energy on the dance reality show. Now it has been revealed that the wedding is not only postponed, but completely called off. E! reports that a source close to Smirnoff claims that her and Penny are just two different people.

This isn’t the first time Smirnoff has been a ‘runaway bride.’ A few years back she was engaged to fellow dance pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy, but things didn’t work out for them.

At the Civic Center in Amarillo, we will be hosting the garage sale and you can purchase a booth now to be a vendor in the Garage Sale, or just show up and browse all of the vendors on site. This is going to be a ton of fun and will have something for everyone. I mean, who has never to a garage sale? No-one. Join your favorite Radio station there as well. Who knows, you might just find that one thing you have been looking for!

Tons of people flocked to Canyon from Amarillo to enjoy their 4th of July parade and Fair on the Square.  My husband and son may their way down to Canyon to enjoy the fun as well and brought back pictures.  Ethan had a ton of fun and came home with a bag of candy.  Canyon knows how to put on a parade for the 4th of July.

If you missed MuttFest 2011, here are some pics and a video of an awesome frisbee competition. There were dogs from all over the panhandle and the crowd was huge. With such a great turn out, veterinary services from Lonestar Veterinary Clinic and BBQ Sandwiches from Rudy’s BBQ, MuttFest 2011 was a huge success! It was a truly fun time to walk the park with our puppy and our daughter, while enjoying a sunny and mildly windy day in Amarillo (and being the beginning of summer, a mildly windy day is a blessing here). We saw so many different breeds of dogs from tea cup dogs to great danes. We had so much fun that we are counting the days till next years!

A Zebra painted Land Rover pulled up to the resort with 8 seats in the back to pick us up and take us on our adventure.  From the hotel we proceeded into the mountains of Ocho Rios.

how people live in Jamaica.  Some of the homes located on the sides of the mountains are made out of plywood.

Very small houses and they are a true definition of shacks.  Most of these communities are very poor and they live off the land and what nature gives them.  Most of these communities do not have running water and they rely on rainfall to provide the water for their homes.  If it doesn’t rain they don’t have water.

Jamaica is a beautiful country.  I was in awe of the beauty.

Tomorrow I will tell you more about What I Learned From My Trip to Jamaica.  It involves plants!  I was amazed!

We adopted our new puppy and Buster is a great addition to our family! We got the cutest little guy in the world! Check him out and let me know what you think!
We have been wanting get a puppy for a long time now. We were going to get a toy dog but found them to be more than $300 dollars! Although we wanted one very much, we could not afford one of these little guys, so we kept our eye out for the last several months. We looked on Craigslist and in the classified at amarillo.com and still couldn’t find a puppy that we could afford. A few months ago we went out to the Amarillo Humane Society and looked but did not see any puppies out there, so yet again we decided to keep our eye out and see if we could find one some place else. After waiting and waiting, we kind of just stopped looking and hoped to be able to afford to get one of the “pure breed” puppies that we had been looking at. After stopping our search, my wife’s sister calls and tells us that they have some puppies out at the Amarillo Humane Society. We went out there and walked through looking at all the puppies and in the very last stall, WE FOUND HIM! He is the cutest little Akita (though I’m sure he is a mix) puppy who was just sleeping in his stall and they extended his time there so we could get him, otherwise he was going to be put down. We took him to PetCo and got him a collar, leash and some tiny squeeky tennis balls to play with. When we got him home we found out that he was COVERED with ticks (which I can not stand), so we began pulling them off. We bathed him and pulled of almost 100 of these nasty little guys! Now he seems to be a lot happier and he is running around the house chewing on everything from socks to our kitty cat. Now comes the vet appointment tomorrow for his shots and to get neutered. Poor little guy!

Thousands of revelers turned out for Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans on Monday and Tuesday, including celebrities like recent Oscar-winner Melissa Leo, actress Jennifer Coolidge, and creator of “The Wire” and the NOLA-set “Treme” David Simon.

Come St. Patrick’s Day everyone’s Irish, and they all want to express their newfound ethnicity with goofy hats or at least some green gear. I found the ten most bizarre St. Patrick’s Day crafts on Etsy that you’d only buy after a few pints o’ Guinness. Erin Go Barf!
