806 Health Tip: For Your Mental Health Try Eating In Silence
We are looking for any possible way in 2020 to help us out. Maybe we are looking to lose weight. Maybe we really need to find a way to make a little extra money. Maybe our biggest issue is stress. This year has brought a lot of hurdles our way.
There is no doubt that stress has been a big deal that we have faced. We may have lost our job. Maybe we have had to deal with sickness. Or maybe our stress came from the big plans we had for the year that was not able to happen.
We have to find a way to deal with it all. We can try to meditate for most of the day. That should accomplish bringing that stress factor down a bit but who has that much time. What if I told you that you can accomplish the same thing just by enjoying the sound of silence. Now it will help you out if you enjoy that silence while you are eating.
We enjoy the hustle and bustle of the day by heading to Market Street and grabbing us a salad from the great salad bar. We than go and take it back to work or sit in the cafeteria area and enjoy that salad. That is good for our stomach but not necessarily our mind.
We need to find time to sit and eat alone in silence. We need to look for a calm way to eat and go on with our day. If we can eat in silence at breakfast than our morning starts off great. If we choose to use our lunch or dinner even better.
We just know that sitting in silence slows our heart rate down. At this same time our corisol levels drop as well. That will bring our stress way down. It may be difficult to spend that much time alone with our thoughts but I promise you it will get easier.
So grab a meal and sit alone in silence and see how your body, mind and soul thank you.
