Do you ever find yourself wanting a snack when you are having a glass of wine or even a beer?

They say that when you are trying to lose weight that you should cut out the alcohol. Not only because of the added calories but also for that fact that these drinks tend to give you the munchies.

Science may have finally caught up to explain why this is a thing. Have you ever gone out with friends and then ended up at Whataburger at 2 am. I mean I feel that was a rite of passage back in the day.

It turns out that it's not JUST because you have had a few and your inhibitions have been lowered. There is more to it.

There was a study done with mice and it was found that binge drinking actually activates your brain to want to binge eat as well. So as luck would have it when you drink a lot it also makes you want to eat a lot.

Mystery solved. The bad thing is that these scientists also have decided that binge eating may entice you to want to do some more of that binge drinking too. So it looks like binge drinking and binge eating go hand in hand.

I'm not sure if this study makes me want to have a beer or a large pizza. Apparently I need to stay away from both right now.
