As the weather in Amarillo starts to get nicer we think about ways to spend more time outdoors. One way that we enjoy is the several different ways to shop. The warmer weather reminds us that the farmer's markets and community markets are about to start their season.
I am the first to say that Center City hosts a lot of great events throughout the year. A lot of fun things that the community can't wait to join in on the fun. They have their High Noon on the Square. A great lunch and plenty of entertainment.
One of the best things about the summer months is we get outside and do a lot more. I feel that fall sometimes gets a bad wrap. We still do things outdoors but the events change. We get cold while we are out at football games and other outdoor stuff.
We know that summer is here when we get the notice that the Amarillo Community Market is set to have their opening day this weekend. This is one event that was not officially cancelled last year.
Nothing has been worse than seeing everything that we loved last year get cancelled. We get it. We were living through a freaking pandemic. Who knew that was going to be a year in the making.
In a year that has had more downs than ups it is nice to have something that is able to happen. We have had many events have to cancel. We have had others that decided to postpone until a later date. Some events have been able to find a way to go on.
The summer of 2020 is coming to an end and with that one of our beloved summer activities also has to call it a season. The Amarillo Community Market has seen some challenges this year but it has survived and done great.
The Potter County Courthouse has been the location for High Noon on the Square for years and years. In fact they celebrated their 25th year last summer. To say it has been a mainstay for many here in Amarillo would be an understatement.
