UPDATE: Unlimited Bread IS A Given At This Amarillo Restaurant
Update 2/20/2020: Cheddar Bay Biscuits are still unlimited for dine-in guests and the two biscuits per order policy are for To Go/delivery orders only. This came with confusion after a new format of the menu page, Red Lobster is working to clear up any confusion and formatting on the menu.
Red Lobster sent a statement to clear the confusion,
“We want to set the record straight. Despite rumors to the contrary, Red Lobster’s Cheddar Bay Biscuits are in fact unlimited for our dine-in guests. Obviously, due to the nature of To Go and delivery orders, there is a limit to how many we include in the bag, which is two per entrée with the option to add more to your order for a small fee.”
There are some restaurants that I go to and I know I will just fill up on chips and hot sauce. Some I know I will on breadsticks or just regular bread. I know I will be too full before my food comes out to me so I will bring some of it home with me.
2/18/2020: I know that I have little control when it comes to this deliciousness. Which is maybe why one restaurant chain is trying to help us out. At least that is the positive spin I am trying to take. We have a Red Lobster here in Amarillo. My daughter and I love to go there.
We love their Cheddar Bay Biscuits. Right? I mean you know what I am talking about. Their warm and garlicky yet cheesy biscuit. I can just imagine one melting in my mouth now.
I can not show restraint with those which may be why the restaurant is making it ummmm....easier on us. Supposedly there is a policy change that happened there recently. Apparently you can no longer get an UNLIMITED amount of this deliciousness. Nope.
They have not limited it to TWO biscuits for every entree. I am reeling here. I mean is two enough? I mean for my carb conscious self I know it should be....but for my yumminess factor I just can't get behind this.
So is this true? Another source says that it is not. Hmmm.......
Now I know what they are doing. Trying to make sure we save some room for out food.....and maybe even for a bit of dessert. They are cutting down on food waste and cost....I get that.
Here is my takeaway though. I waited tables....I know what a hard job that is....I also know there is not a server who is going to risk their tip, that they need to survive, in order to pay their bills over some wonderful biscuits. I feel that if ask for more....they will oblige. Well at least for now until corporate finds a way to make sure they have to ring up and get them from behind the line.
I am sure that is probably coming. So don't take your frustrations out on the server.....maybe hope your kiddo will only eat one. In fact make that a rule. This way you can have their second one. Or you can test your relationship you can see how much they really love you. You walk away with one of their Cheddar Bay Biscuits and I feel that person is definitely a keeper. I'm just saying.
So I feel a trip to Red Lobster will be in my future. I need to get to the bottom of this. Is it true? Is this indeed wrong? I have two conflicting sources which means the only winner is me. I get to go in and have Red Lobster and test out the waters. If you know the scoop comment below.
