806 Health Tip: Even More Dangers While Cleaning
Who would ever think that there are so many ways we can get hurt while cleaning? Is this a way to stop doing just that? Well no. We need to find ways to not live in a mess but not kill ourselves in the process too.
I decided last week that I needed to move my bed and clean the hardwood floors under it. I also have some area rugs in room that are partially under the bed. Having a dog and cat leads to pet hair that collects under there. So the first thing I have to do of course is move the bed. Lift with my legs. Then get on my hands and knees to clean the floor. All part of the spring cleaning. I found a way to do all that without injuring myself. So that is a win in my book.
I also grabbed the vacuum to get those area rugs clean. You have to make sure that you have a good filter. If you don;t have a HEPA filter that collects all the dust to keep it out of going back into the air. The air that you breathe. If you have any kind of allergies or asthma that can cause all sorts of problems for you.
Next I decided to change the air filter in my heating/air system. I tend to buy the really cheap ones and change them every month. That was recommended by the reputable company that installed my system in the first place. I usually take a trip to Home Depot on Georgia and stock up on a ton of those really cheap air filter. Now I know I should go and grab a ladder to do that. I don't. I grab a chair from my kitchen table. It is closer than running out to my garage. If you do that do make sure you use some common sense. Whether you use a ladder or a chair make sure you place it on a firm, level ground. Also make sure you don't overreach and end up pulling something.
So as you are taking extra time while you are at home and cleaning do make sure you don't hurt yourself. Any other cleaning tips? Comment below.
