I guess it seems weird to me that this is a thing. Some people really do hate the sound of their own voice. I mean why? How? It's a part of you.

I guess I figure you have been hearing recordings of you for years. You remember when we use to leave outgoing messages on our answering machines. Some of us had cute "family" messages....some had funny. Some just had "Hi this is ________ we're not home so leave a message."

I feel we have all grown accustomed to the sound of our own voice but apparently we have not. There was a survey and over 40% of us don't like the sound of our own voices. That seems pretty hi to me.

Does it come as a surprise to you that women were actually more likely to say they hate their voices than men. I wonder why that is. I mean I don't think I have ever really heard a horrible women's voice. Well unless you want to count Janice on FRIENDS....but that was more of her "Oh my gosh" scream and her laugh.

Apparently if you are young and don't like your voice you may just grow out of that. It seems people over the age of 55 were 50% less likely to hate their voice or even really care how it sounds.

What do you think? Do you hate the sound of your voice when you hear it played back? Or are you OK with it? Comment below.
