We have all heard the saying "An Apple a Day Keeps the Doctor Away." If you really eat an apple a day will you be healthy? Or is that just one of those old wives tales that really holds no truth?

What do you think? Well a new study made sure to actually find this out. What was the result? An apple a day is just not enough. If you want to make sure you stay healthy you need to eat at least 2 apples a day.

The study had a group eat 2 large apples everyday for a whole two months and the results were not bad at all. Those who did actually lowered their blood pressure. But that is not all they also were able to cut their risk for a heart attack down. Even their cholesterol was lowered by about 4%.

This worked not only for men but also for women. Women actually saw a bigger effect of eating 2 apples a day.

Don't think that you can just drink your way to these benefits though. If you think you can drink apple juice and have the same benefits you are wrong. The juice doesn't have the amount of fiber or nutrients you will need.

So grab a couple apples and you will gain 25% of the fiber you need per day. Get on your way to a healthier 2020 by just changing your diet just a little.
