806 Health: Start Your Day Off In A Good Place
With the week we have had we need to at least wake up on the right side of the bed. Hopefully that one is warmer anyway. The brutal temperature that the Panhandle has seen sometimes makes it tough to be cheery.
There are some things that we can do to avoid a bad start. Or maybe some stuff to make sure we don't do first thing in the morning. It is all about perspective.
What is the first thing you do when you wake up? I know I am certainly guilty of this. Do you check your phone? You are not alone but you need to stop doing that right away. That can make our mornings more stressful. Starting off with checking email may make you think you have a jump on the day but try not for awhile. See how that feels. Start your day by stretching, deep breathing, heck even start off with a tall glass of water. That water will help you get a jumpstart on your water intake. That is much better than any email you may have waiting.
Of course when that alarm goes off do you hit snooze? That is one thing I am not guilty of doing but I do see the perks of it. The more, though, you snooze the further it puts you behind and can start you off with a stressful jump out of bed and a rushed morning.
Another thing that can help you as you get out of bed is heading to the bathroom and washing that face. That pillow you are sleeping on is probably covered in oil and dead skin. So start your day off by putting your best face forward.
