Mix 94.1 Health Tip of the Day: How to Help Your Blood Pressure
You get up, you go to work, you come home just to repeat all of this the next day. Do you find time to workout?
Sometimes finding that time is just so tough to do. I get it. We have so much to do in a days time. We know it's important though.
Here is the thing though. If you can find just 30 minutes a day to exercise BEFORE work you will be doing yourself a huge favor. Especially if you have problems with your blood pressure.
It doesn't have to be an insane workout. No, not at all. All you have to do is walk at a moderate pace on a treadmill for a half-hour. So if you can fit in a brisk walk before work that is all you have to do.
Taking that walk before work was found to lower people's blood pressure so much that it was like the equivalent of taking a high blood pressure medication. So if you can just walk and save yourself from taking meds, I mean that is the best outcome.
Not only do you need to walk for thirty minutes but you will also get better results if you get more walking in during the day. You just need to get up and walk at work for about three minutes every half-hour. That is really attainable. Take a walk to the restroom. Take a walk to get another cup of coffee or water. Just get to moving.
I mean if that is all it takes to lower your blood pressure, wouldn't you say it was worth it? Walk! Just do it!
